Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction

Welcome to Sit Happens. These terms and conditions outline the rules and regulations for the use of Sit Happens' Pet Sitting Services. By booking our services, you accept these terms and conditions in full.

2. Definitions

'The Business', 'We', 'Us', 'Our' refers to Sit Happens. 'The Client', 'You', 'Owner' refers to the person requesting the service. 'Pet' refers to the animal(s) identified in the booking form.

3. Services Provided

Sit happens agrees to provide pet care services as arranged with the client, including dog walking, home visits, pet taxi, feeding, playtime and/or overnight sitting. 

All services will be carried out with reasonable care, skill and professionalism.

4. Bookings & Payments

A booking is only confirmed once a 'Meet & Greet' has taken place and a deposit (if applicable) is received. All prices are in GBP (£). Final payment is due on the day of the service.

5. Cancellations & Refunds

Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the service start date will receive a full refund.

If you cancel 24-48 hours before the date of service, you will be charged 50% of the cost of the service. 

If you cancel within 24 hours of the date of service, you will be charged 100% of the cost of the service. 

6. Pet Health & Safety

The Owner must disclose any known health issues or aggressive tendencies. All pets must be up to date with vaccinations, flea, and worming treatments. We reserve the right to refuse service if a pet poses a risk to safety.

7. Owner Responsibilities

The Owner is responsible for providing all necessary food, litter, medication, and equipment (leashes, collars, etc.). The Owner confirms that all information provided about the pet and home is accurate and complete.

8. Liability & Insurance

Sit Happens is fully insured for public liability. However, we cannot be held liable for damage to property or injury to pets that is not a direct result of our negligence. Owners are advised to maintain their own pet and home insurance.

9. Keys & Home Access

Arrangements for key collection and return must be made during the Meet & Greet or stated on the booking form. We will keep keys secure and will only enter the home during the agreed service times. We are not liable for home security issues beyond our control.

If the key is lost or damaged by an employee or Sit Happens we will cover the cost of replacement. 

10. Updates & Communication

We will provide regular updates via SMS, WhatsApp, or Email during our visits unless you have opted out during the booking process. In the event of non-emergency queries, we will contact the Owner. Please ensure you are reachable during the service period.

11. Veterinary Care & Emergencies

In the event of an emergency, we will attempt to contact the Owner immediately. If unreachable, we are authorised to seek veterinary care. Any veterinary fees incurred are the sole responsibility of the Owner.

12. Privacy & Data

Any personal information collected will be used solely for the purpose of providing our services and will not be shared with third parties, except for veterinary professionals in an emergency, in accordance with UK GDPR.

13. Changes to These Terms

Sit Happens reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Updated terms will be posted on our website and will apply to any bookings made after the date of the update.
